Hey everybody, just wanted to say thanks for everything everyone has done for me the past 24 hours, you all have been wonderful with prayers and visits and hospital trips. (sorry again candy) I just wanted to say that what happened still amazes me and doesn't even feel real in a lot of ways, and it wasn't luck that I walked away from that accident. I was blessed and protected.
On a lighter note here are some of my favorite quotes I've heard so far:
"Grandpa is going to be sooo mad at you." - Hailey
"When do you get to take the big band-aid off your neck?" -Jess
"I don't get what happened. I know you got hit by a car, but how?" - also Jess
"Can I go see the car?"- Kylynd
This last one was after Jamie and Ben went to see the car today and brought back the candy that was in the glove box that grandma kept for the kids:
"Cool! We get car crash candy!" -Scott
Once again, thanks everybody for everything. I'm glad to be around and very thankful for my blessings. Only downside: I have to start all over at the Chiropractor. ^_^ Love you all tons.

Update on Grandma Potter
Grandma received a new addition to her body Monday - a pacemaker. The surgery went well. She's in a little pain, but in relatively good shape. She was suppose to go home Tuesday, but the doctor changed his mind so he could keep an eye on her just a little longer. The last I knew she'll be home Wednesday. She sends her love to all. A short phone call or get-well card would be appreciated.

Quiz Time
Who's the oldest individual in our family? Hint: Her birthday is this Saturday. Don't forget to send a card, write a note, call her, fly out and visit, or whatever. She loves hearing from her long-distance loved ones.

Christmas names!
I guess Melinda is the only one here who reads her e-mails! She is the only one I have heard back from about Christmas names. So I'm just going to put it on the blog so everyone will know what's going on! Brandon, I'm so glad you clarified that you and Staci are not a couple-that would have thrown off everything!:)
Jared & Candy have Chad & Melinda
Chad & Melinda have Tony & Jana
Tony & Jana have Ben & Jamie
Ben & Jamie have Brandon
Brandon has Staci
Staci has Jared & Candy
I think we decided on a limit of $20 this year so that everyone doesn't break the bank!:) Any questions or concerns-just let me know!

An Idea!
I don't know if this will work, but I had an idea that sometime during Thanksgiving break we could all go to the temple as a family. I don't know what days the temple will be open and if it would even be possible, but....??? We'd also have to work out babysitters for all the kids! What does everyone think? Could we pull it off?

TAXES!!! AAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!
I just looked at my e-mail and I got one from turbo tax about ordering it early and I'll get free shipping and I realized that we're not going to have Dad here to do our taxes this next year!! Sooooooo, who wants to volunteer to take Dad's place while he's gone???? Brandon??? (well, maybe not!:))
Thanksgiving & Christmas!
So, eveyone's on for Thanksgiving at Mom and Dad's right?? We are so excited to see everyone there-it always seems like too long between visits! We're wanting to be able to bring all of our Christmas stuff during that week since we won't be coming for Christmas this year, and I think I heard that we were going to switch things up this year??? Does anyone know what we're doing? I'd like to hear eveyones plans for Thanksgiving as well--when you're going to be at Dad and Mom's, how long you're staying, if we need to bring pies, and whatever else we can do to help Mom out so she doesn't go crazy right before they leave!:) Can't wait to see everyone! Love you all! (That includes Jared and Candy, although I don't think they've ever gotten on the blog--do they not know about it??)

Congrats to Ben!
So, I'm glad that I talk to Mom and Dad on a regular basis and they can keep me informed about everything going on in the family! (Sorry I don't do well at calling and talking to you all myself!) Anyway, they infomed me of Ben's new job! We are so excited for you! It will be a great change, huh?! So Jamie, you're going to be left at home without Ben for 2 weeks? I guess that's worth it to have him with you in church every Sunday from then on out right!:) Anyway, good luck in your new endeavor-we know you'll be great!

Someone's 32! (right?)
HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHAD!!
Hope that you had a great day-probably just worked like any other huh?
Sorry this is all you're getting from the Miramontes' this year (like that's different from any other:)!)
Wish we could buy you a big ol' boat to go fishing on! Maybe when Tony wins the lottery that he never plays!
Anyways, just wanted to wish you a happy birthday and let you know we didn't forget about you!
We love our brother, brother-in-law, and uncle!
I have a favor to ask of any one that is willing. My friend, Michelle, is suffering from melanoma and has had a very difficult battle for the last 4 or 5 years. It started out small on her cheek and has spread, and spread, and spread. She has lost half of her face and one of her ears. She has had numerous surgeries and they thought that they may have gotten it all with her last surgery in May, but they were wrong. She has been faced with a very difficult decision recently. She had to decide what kind of treatment she wanted to pursue. All of the treatments had pros and cons. One would keep her in the hospital for 10 days and the side effects are more horrible than i can describe, but it could give her up to five more years. Michelle has three beautiful children and wants to live here as long as she can so she chose this treatment over two others that were less invasive but gave her less time on Earth. After she made the decision she received detrimental news, the cancer has spread to her lungs. Right now they are simply discussing more treatment options, but Michelle feels like she has a very small chance of recovery. I am going to do a special fast for her on Thursday. Since I am pregnant I can not do a true fast, but I am going to spend a lot of time on my knees and I will do everything else that I would normally do when I fast. Michelle is an amazing person, and she and I have been friends since middle school. She has a beautiful spirit and family and she deserves some prayers in her behalf. I am asking all of you who are willing to fast with me or at least keep her in your prayers. You are welcome to look at her blog, it is linked to mine but I am warning you, you will cry- but your testimony might be strengthened as well and you will probably end up feeling very blessed for the trials you are facing or have faced. I decided to fast yesterday and then Chad got his birthday card from Grandma and we learned of her health problems too. She asked if we would keep her in our prayers and so I was thinking if anyone ends up fasting with me we can certainly include Grandma in our prayers and fast intent.
Thank you so much,
Melinda

Some interesting things we are learning about our mission. 1) We will drive on the wrong side of the road - on the wrong side of the car - shifting with the left hand! 2) We will be living in a house with the ability to have internet, hot water, washer and dryer, and monkeys probably running around the back yard. 3) We most likely will be assigned a branch and will stay at that assignment the full 18 months. 4) All couples have ample opportunity to visit game reserves with all the Safari animals that you see on national geographic 5) Other couples have had children and siblings visit them in the mission with the sanction and blessing of the mission president. 6) We are more excited than ever!

Durbanites Cornor
Thanks Melinda for the neat post on the mission call. We have enjoyed it again and again! We especially enjoyed reading the missionary blog of the couple whose e-mail address you gave to us.
We are totally excited to go to the Aftican Nation. Won't even miss much the "Cougar Nation" while we are gone. This will be alot more exicting. Melinda and Chad you might want to come down and pick us up as go on a wildlife safari with us. Fish and game would probably pay for you to have that inservice opportunity.
We love those who live in Ogden, those who live in Colorado, those who live in Cedar, those who live in Parowan, and those who don't know where they live or will live.
Have a good one!

Missing Dad & Mom already!
So, I didn't exactly know where Durban was-just in South Africa, so I thought I'd do some exploring! I've had so much fun looking at pictures of Durban that I thought I'd share some with everyone! Dad and Mom sure have a wonderful experience waiting for them! Wish I could tag along!:)
This is a map that I found that shows the growth of the church in South Africa. The yellow dots are wards and the green are branches! WOW!
I thought this was so cute! Dad and Mom may have to bring a souvenier like this home for me!!:)

Seeing if this works!
Just seeing if I'm able to post from my google account so it shows I posted this. Just ignore it!
Its funny that you say that, Brandon cause that is exactly what we were planning on doing! The day we found out that I am pregnant was the day Manny got traded. How does this sound- Manny Deliverance Wilson=)
And to Jana, that sounds great! I think people have had trouble posting and that would probably be a lot easier so have at it!

Do you know?
This is mostly for Melinda. As I was reading through stuff trying to set up my own blog I think I read something about there being a way to have multiple authors that can post on a single blog that way we could all just sign in with our own username and password and it would show who actually posted and everything wouldn't be from Melinda.:) Do you know anything about this or how we could set it up or would you mind if I did? (or tried to:)) Maybe it would help-or maybe not-let me know. (This is Jana by the way!)
The New Kid On The Block.....
We would like to introduce you to the newest member of the Wilson Family, little Baby Yolkie! We had our first ultrasound yesterday and got some great news- there is a yolk sac! This is probably the earliest we could have seen anything on ultrasound so even though we didn't see an actual baby with a heartbeat we saw a yolk sac and that means that everything is going great and the baby is in the right spot ( already obedient!). We don't know our exact due date but chances are that I am due on my birthday:)

Wilson Family Retreat 2008
"The Book Of Mormon"
Hats off to Staci who put together this year's retreat. I think I can speak for everyone when I say "Job well done". Everyone had a blast and we all look forward to next year, and hopefully Mom and Dad will find the time to think of us from wherever they.
